Benicia Police Log: Someone Trying to Look In Through a Peephole and a Suspected Drink Driver was Sober

12:43 a.m.: Police opened an investigation into a case of vandalism on Military East.  Somebody broke the windshield of a car.

2:20 p.m.: Officers gave advice to a citizen trying to resolve an issue with a car.

2:36 p.m.: A citizen reported the presence of an injured bird on Cambridge.

4:17 p.m.: A vehicle parked on East Industrial Way was vandalized.

4:39 p.m.: An employee at a Military West business accidentally set off an alarm.

4:59 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to investigate a suspicious circumstance on East Third Street.

6:52 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to Rose Drive to do some follow-up with a citizen.

8:15 p.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at a business on East Industrial Way.  Officers didn’t find any evidence of a break-in.

8:58 p.m.: Police received a blind cell phone call from the vicinity of Fitzgerald Field.  There was a game being played at the time and it was determined the call was accidental.

9:52 p.m.: A resident on Southampton Road reported a neighbor was looking through the peephole on her front door.  Officers talked to the neighbor who claimed to be looking in on a friend.

10:08 p.m.: Officers stopped a car on Interstate 780 after receiving a report that the driver might be drunk.  The driver wasn’t drunk.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
