Benicia Police Log: Two Arrests for Assault, One Arrest for Firing a Gun and Escaped Dogs Behaving Badly

1:58 a.m.: The neighbors who were arguing on East N Street agreed to be quiet after officers arrived on the scene.

8:06 a.m.: A missing juvenile was returned home.

8:17 a.m.: A 55-year-old Benicia man was arrested for assault and battery.  The arrest took place on Hastings.

8:31 a.m.: A residential burglar alarm on Chadwick malfunctioned.

9:23 a.m.: A residential burglar alarm on McCall malfunctioned.

10:13 a.m.: The 911 call received from a residence on Carolina was an accidental dial.

12:46 p.m.: A car on Military West was vandalized.  The tires were slashed.

12:47 p.m.: Some dogs escaped their yard on Bolton and got into a fight with neighboring dogs.

12:59 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a suspicious person reported in the vicinity of Channing.

1:08 p.m.: A burglar alarm on Rose malfunctioned.

2:04 p.m.: Officers gave advice to a citizen on Columbus regarding the exchange of money for services.

2:35 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of an unfamiliar car on East Third Street.  The driver was there to pick up a child.

3:30 p.m.: A resident on McCall failed to adequately turn off the burglar alarm.

6:44 p.m.: A vehicle on Lindo was cited for parking on the sidewalk.

8:50 p.m.: Residents on Southampton Road reported hearing gunshots. Officers responded to the scene but found nothing.  Later in the evening they were able to connect a 20-year-old Napa man with the discharge of a firearm in the vicinity of Southampton Road.

10:45 p.m.: Officers talked to a resident on Dominic who was being loud.

11:30 p.m.: Officers arrested a 28-year-old Benicia man for domestic violence.  The arrest took place on Buena Vista.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
