Noisy Music, Skateboarders and Hit and Runs Reported Over Weekend

It was a noisy weekend for Benicia with fireworks, arguments and fireworks.

 

Although dozens of traffic stops were made over the weekend, only one resulted in a DWI issued on I-780 at 1:21 am Saturday morning.

It was a busy weekend for alarm calls in both businesses and homes but all turned out to be alarm malfunctions or accidents.

Two reports of hit and run were reported: one of East 2nd street at 12:25 pm Thursday and a parked car on First street on Friday at 6:33 pm.

A wallet was reported stolen on First Street Saturday at 2:08 pm.

Multiple disturbances were reported over the weekend. On Friday evening on East 5th street, a verbal altercation between a male and female was reported. Both agreed to stop arguing but a second report was made a half hour later. The female agreed to leave for the night.

On Friday, loud music from a parked car was reported on Sunset Circle at 7:22 pm. On Southampton road, loud subjects in a swimming pool were reported but police were unable to locate them upon arrival and loud party music at a home was reported on McCall, but was turned off prior to the officer's arrival. On Saturday, loud noise on East I street at 6:30.

Skateboarders were reported skating Thursday night at 7:27 pm at Solano Square and again at 9:30 pm at the new Community Center. Another report of noise from skateboarders was made on Saturday at 7:17 pm on Southampton Road.

On Thursday, mischievous activity included four counts of graffiti reported on West K and Park at 5:15 pm, people racing ATV's on Blanchard at 11:12 pm and juveniles throwing eggs at vehicles on Warwick Drive at 10:14 pm. In all cases, suspects were not located.

On Saturday at 11:28 pm, illegal fireworks were reported on West K Street, but police were unable to locate the suspects.
