Police Log: Juvenile Disturbances, Theft, DUI, More

A summary of police activity in Benicia from Jan. 11 to Jan. 15.

Benicia Police have responded to calls of burglary, fraud, suspicious circumstances and more over the past few days. Here is a look at some of those calls:

Friday, Jan. 11

8:03 a.m. - A resident reported finding a vacuum cleaner on the railroad tracks near Bayshore Road. A report was taken; the owner was found and will pick up the item.

9 a.m. - A burglary report was taken for jewelry missing from a home on E Street.

10:30 a.m. - A victim's information was used to "obtain credit and ship plumbing supplies around the country."

2:28 p.m. - A large group of juveniles was reported at a business on Southampton Road "throwing ice and being disruptive" in a restaurant. They were gone when police arrived; more patrols were requested.

4:04 p.m. - Eight or nine teens were seen kicking over garbage cans. They were contacted by police, cleaned up their mess and moved on.

Saturday, Jan. 12

12:00 a.m. - Stephen Stults, 51, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence after an altercation with his wife.

2:06 a.m. - Vallejo resident Chelsea Lowen, 23, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence on 1st Street. She was cited and released.

11:22 a.m. - Police received a report of suspicious solitictors on East 3rd Street. They were found to be selling candy bars for their grandmother's funeral.

7:57 p.m. - Police received a report of shots or fireworks in the area of Southampton Road. Police confirmed the sound was fireworks, but were unable to locate the source.

8:31 p.m. - Police took a report on Southampton Road for an unspecified theft.

10:56 p.m. - A loud party was reported on El Bonito Way. The participants were warned.

Sunday, Jan. 13

7:59 a.m. - A resident reported her purse was missing from her home on Warwick Drive. A report was taken.

11:09 a.m. - A counterfit $10 bill was used on Southampton Road. Police took a report.

4:42 p.m. - A resident reported her "Home Depot account was used in Martinez." She said she would file a report online.

Monday, Jan. 14

12:34 a.m. - A resident reported hearing someone in an alley near East O Street yelling, "Oh no." Police were unable to find anyone.

1:10 p.m. - Police received a report of people in a closed park on Rose Drive. They were warned to move along.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

11:45 a.m. - Sisters on Viewmont Street caused a disturbance over money; neither wanted to seek prosecution.

2:22 p.m. - A resident on East L Street "requested assistance getting her 5-year-old son back. The order is from out-of-state and [was] interpreted differently by both parents."

7:59 p.m. - An unspecified alcohol disturbance was reported on Southhampton Road. Police warned the subjects.

9:03 p.m. - A resident reported hearing a person upstairs in a building on East K Street when "no one is supposed to be there." Police were unable to find anyone.

9:44 p.m. - Police responded to a blind 911 call to find there was a disturbance prior to the officers arriving, and "everyone is calm now."
