Police Log: Man Arrested on Suspicion of Rape, Two-Vehicle Injury Accident and Pair of DWI Reports

Accident at Intersection of Southampton Road and Hastings Drive sends four to the hospital with minor injuries.

A few highlights on Wednesday's police log: someone called police to report a scratch on their vehicle, police warn a resident to stop making so many calls and four people avoid serious injury in a two-car accident.

8:13 a.m.  Thirty-six-year-old Edward Connor was arrested East L Street on outstanding bail warrants in Tehama and Butte counties.   

10:08 a.m. There was a report of a burglary at a commercial property on Jackson Street. The locks were broken but the exact loss of property was unknown at the time of the report.

10:09 a.m. Police did a report of a bicycle theft on Columbus Parkway.

10:35 a.m. Someone called police to report a scratch had been made on their vehicle on Essex Street.

10:46 a.m. A resident accidentally set off a home alarm on Bantry Way.

11:44 a.m. A 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana on Southampton Road.

12:37 p.m. Eighteen-year-old James Mitchell was arrested on suspicion of rape on Military West.

2:19 p.m. Police were called to West K Street on a report of a suspicious individual watching children with binoculars. The person turned out to be looking for his granddaughter, who confirmed the man was her grandfather.

2:54 p.m. Police were called out to West J Street to investigate a report of people smoking marijuana.

3:31 p.m.  Police, fire and medical crews were called out to the scene of an accident at Southampton Road and Hastings Drive. Four people were taken to Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo with minor injuries.

6:23 p.m. A person living at an address on Linda Vista Street was given a warning for making excessive phone calls.  

8:10 p.m. Dispatch took a report of a possible DWI on Lake Herman Road but police couldn’t find the driver.

9:59 p.m. Dispatch took another report of a possible DWI on Rose Drive running stop lights, but police once again conducted a search and couldn’t find anything.

10:20 p.m. An alarm malfunctioned at a business on Southampton Road.

10:21 p.m. Police took a report of a unfamiliar vehicle in a neighborhood on El Bonito Way.

11:36 p.m. A civil detail was requested on Riverview Terrace.
