Benicia Schools May Issue Pink Slips
Benicia Unified School District could eliminate up to 30 full-time teaching positions.
The board will consider issuing pink slips for as many as 30 full-time teaching positions Thursday evening.
The proposed cuts are for the 2011-2012 school year in lieu of pending budget cuts. The district is currently facing a minimum .
Positions to be cut include those that cover Social Science, Language Arts, Special Education, Physical Science and a School Psychologist.
The school board will meet in open session at 7 p.m. Thursday in . A public comment period to respond to these cuts is slated in the meeting’s agenda.
