Council Approves Deal to Keep State Recreation Area Open

The agreement keeps the park open until the end of the current fiscal year.

The Benicia City Council voted to enter into an agreement with the State to provide basic services to the Benicia State Recreation Area.  The City will pay $15,500 to the state to provide water to the , two chemical toilets and trash pick up at the popular park.

The Vallejo Times Herald reports that Benicia has approached Vallejo officials to try and find a regional solution to the funding problem.

The state will continue to cover liability at the park.
