Benicia Basketball Teams Split a Pair with Bethel

Benicia varsity teams fight back-Boys lose at home while Girls win at Bethel.

The Jesse Bethel Jaguars boys basketball team roared out to a fast start in Tuesday night's game against the Panthers.  The Jags led by 18 at the end of the first quarter.

The Panthers fought back and pulled within 2 in the last two minutes of the game but never got any closer.  The final score was 73-66.

The same night, the Lady Panthers traveled to Bethel in Vallejo where they played a close game sealing a victory when a three pointer to fell in the last ten seconds to win 53-50.

The Vallejo Times-Herald reports that the game winner was a bank shot with 9.1 seconds left in the game.

The next home game is Thursday when the Lady Panthers host American Canyon.
