Jepson Prairie-Our National Natural Landmark

Free Lecture. Open to the Public. Featuring Ben Wallace, Conservation Projects Manager for Solano Land Trust describing the rich diversitu of plants and animal life in the Jepson Prairie and the data which has been collected by volunteers over the past 10 years.

This area is one of the few remaining vernal pool habitats and natice bunchgrass praries in California. The flora of the Jepson Prairie was first described by botanist Willis Linn Jepson,  a resident of Vacaville and the prairie's name sake, in 1892. The Jepson Prairie is the centerpiece of the Dixon vernal pools.
