Artist's Profile: Phil Taylor

Born in Chico, CA, Phil Taylor has called many cities and states home including, San Diego; San Francisco; Ventura; Washington, DC; Georgia; Kentucky; France. He currently lives in Vallejo, CA where he has his studio.

He completed his bachelor's degree at San Diego State University and attended graduate school there as well. His art study was done mainly at the De Young Museum art school and UC Berkeley.

His main interest is in oil painting but he also enjoys working with watercolors, pastels, pen and ink, and photography.

Taylor has been a member of for about 15 years and will have a painting in the this year..  He is also a member of Vacaville Art League and a former member of Fairfield Visual Arts Association and Vallejo Artists Guild. He has participated in over 200 groups shows with these art groups and has been featured artist at Vacaville Art League. 

Taylor’s paintings are in 37 private collections and he was honored by the City of Vallejo when he was commissioned to do a painting that was given as a gift by Vallejo to its sister city, Trondheim, Norway in celebration of Trondheim’s 2000th birthday.
