Walmart Opens New Vallejo Store

Walmart will opened a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Vallejo today, Wednesday, July 17, after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The new store, approximately one-third the size of a Walmart Supercenter, is located at 501 Sereno Drive and is open from 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week. The new store will provide local customers with a new, convenient option for their grocery shopping needs, including fresh produce and pharmacy services.

“Vallejo is pleased to welcome the new Walmart Neighborhood Market to our city,” stated Mayor Osby Davis. “This new store will help revitalize a vacant storefront and create jobs for local residents. I am encouraged about Walmart's investment in our city as we continue rebuilding Vallejo's economy.”

Walmart State Giving Program

The grand-opening celebration will also include a presentation of a $50,000 grant to The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano through the Walmart State Giving Program.

Store manager Vicky Rafael began her Walmart career in 2000 as a cashier.

“Please come and see your beautiful new store on July 17,” said Rafael. “I look forward to meeting this community and working for them everyday.”

The Vallejo Neighborhood Market is one of 24 Walmart stores opening across the country on July 17th.
