Christopher O'Rourke June 12, 1969 - June 17, 2013

Loving father and husband Chris O’Rourke, born June 12, 1969 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada passed away in Benicia, California on June 17, 2013. The son of Frances and George O’Rourke, brother to Marie (and Roger), Karen (and Dave), Maureen (and Denis), Patty (and Mark) and Colleen, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was especially beloved to his daughter Hailey Frances and wife Brooke Marie, née Jacobs.

Chris was star athlete and starting quarterback on the De La Salle football teams during mid-1980s heyday. In a 1986 game against rival Monte Vista, Chris threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Van Le that helped head his team toward victory. After graduating from St. Mary’s College with a degree in history, where he also played on the football and baseball teams. Chris devoted himself to his true passion: coaching his daughter Hailey’s softball team.

As a child, he adored his dog “Spock,” spent hours with his friends and brothers-in-law shooting hoops and hitting a tennis ball—often over the house across the street—and allowed his beautiful sisters to spoil him.

As an adult, he cared devotedly for his mother Fran. Chris had a twinkle in his eye and a warm spot in his heart for everyone he met. When he wasn’t barbecuing, rooting for his teams (Oakland A's and the 49's) or caring for his daughter with Brooke, he could be found spinning a tale that made his family and friends smile. A tough athlete on the outside, Chris was a gentle and caring soul.

Services will be held Saturday June 22nd at 10:00 am at the Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West 2nd Street, Benicia, CA 94510. In lieu of follows and to assist with memorial costs donations can be made at Wells Fargo Bank.
