Benicia Police Log: Arguments, Fights and Commercial Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the Benicia Police Department, and unless otherwise noted, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

This is the crime bulletin for Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from the Benicia Police Department

1:02 a.m.: Officers assisted in the repossession of a vehicle.

7:46 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a city owned facility on East Third Street.

8:48 a.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a commercial burglary that occurred on Grant Street.

10:17 a.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a theft that occurred on Baylor.

1:13 p.m.: There was a commercial burglary at a business in Solano Square.

1:38 p.m.: A citizen on Tyler Street reported a case of fraud.  Police opened an investigation.

2:49 p.m.: Officers spoke to a pair of roommates on Baylor who were having an argument.

4:12 p.m.: Police were dispatched to East B Street where a suspicious vehicle was spotted by a citizen.  Officers spoke to the vehicle’s occupants.

6:24 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a hit and run that occurred on First Street.

9:17 p.m.: Police received a report of an illegally parked car on East Seventh Street.  Investigating officers found the vehicle was parked legally.

10:05 p.m.: Police were dispatched to East Fifth Street after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle.  Investigating officers found the car and two people inside who were talking.

10:14 p.m.: That report of a thief attempting to steal gasoline from a vehicle parked on Gill Way were unfounded.

11:28 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to First Street after receiving a report of an altercation.  Officers managed to convince the warring parties to separate for the evening.

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
