12:03 a.m.: A 43-year-old Benicia man was arrested on Carlisle. He was suspected of committing acts of domestic violence.

4:32 a.m.: Police received a report of suspicious characters hanging out neat Raley’s. They were gone when officers arrived.
7:09 a.m.: A resident on Hillcrest reported receiveing phone calls that violated a court order. Officers spoke to the person making the calls.

9:05 a.m.: A man and woman were reportedly having a loud argument on East N Street. When contacted by officers they said everything was ok.
9:27 a.m.: Police issued a case number for a repossession on Kearney.
10:48 a.m.: A report of a truck causing a traffic hazard on East Third turned out to be unfounded.
11:18 a.m.: Officers were unable to locate a woman and man on First Street who were reportedly having a physical altercation.
12:12 p.m.: A gas station on Columbus Parkway reported that a customer drove away while the gas hose was still attached to the car.
2:44 p.m.: An East Second Street business asked for assistance in getting an unwanted guest to leave. The guest left after speaking to officers.
2:48 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at A Southampton Road residence.
4:05 p.m.: Officers checked in with a business owner who was involved in a verbal altercation earlier in the day. The business owner was fine.
4:18 p.m.: Officers talked to the kids who were hanging out in their car and playing their music at a high volume. The kids turned down the volume after speaking to officers.
4:52 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Rose Drive business.
6:02 p.m.: Police were notified that a 17-year-old was refusing to return to an East L Street home. Officers gave advice to both parent and child.
7:00 p.m.: Officers had a talk with the juvenile girl who threw eggs and salsa on a car on Goldenhill. The girl cleaned the car and the police talked to her parents.
7:14 p.m.: Police received a report of a car driving through a Rose Drive park. The car was gone when officers arrived.
7:27 p.m.: There was a barking dog on Rose Drive. Officers were unable to talk to the dog’s people.
8:26 p.m.: A resident who was on Southampton Road spotted the suspect in a burglary that occurred some time ago. The suspect was gone when officers arrived.
9:27 p.m.: A dog was barking on Belvedere. Police were unable to talk to the dog’s people.
9:49 p.m.: A resident on Canyon agreed to turn down the music after speaking to officers.
10: 59 p.m.: Police received a report of a car parked at a Rose Drive park after posted park hours. Officers spoke to the driver who was just leaving.
11:04 p.m.: A 47-year-old Benicia man was arrested for domestic violence.
11:07 p.m.: Officers issued a citation to a car parked in front of a hydrant on Arguello.
11:46 p.m.: Officers issued a citation to a car parked on Palace Court. A resident reported the vehicle as being unfamiliar to the area.
11:48 p.m.: Police received a report of fuel in the roadway on Interstate 680. The fire department handled the situation.

12:38 a.m.: Police received a report of a possible drunk driver on Military East. The car and its driver were gone when officers arrived on the scene.
12:57 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Getty Street business.
1:55 a.m.: Police received a report of a guy singing for several hours on First Street. Officers talked to the man who agreed that it was time to go home.
1:56 a.m.: Police received multiple reports from West K Street of shots fired in the area. Investigating officers determined the shots were fired in Crockett.
2:15 a.m.: About half the people involved in a fight on Riverhill ran away when officers arrived. Officers talked to the other half.
2:22 a.m.: Officers couldn’t find the man who was reportedly yelling on Military East.
4:57 a.m.: There was a drunk woman causing a disturbance at a Buena Vista home. Officers gave the gal a ride to a different house.
8:27 a.m.: A gun was stolen from a residence n Incline.
9:26 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Mountview home.
10:11 a.m.: There were multiple cars parked in a No Parking zone on Military West. The drivers were shopping at a garage sale in the vicinity.
10:34 a.m.: A resident on West J Street reported their car was egged and front yard lights were broken.
2:16 p.m.: A citizen on Grant Street asked for an officer to verify a vehicle identification number.
3:20 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Military East.
4:06 p.m.: Officers spoke to the participants in a verbal altercation on London.
4:40 p.m.: Officers spoke to a person who was asked not to enter a business.
5:54 p.m.: Police received a report of a vehicle blocking a driveway on East I Street. The vehicle left the area before officers arrived.
6:25 p.m.: Two women on Chelsea Hills were having an argument. Officers helped them resolve their issues.
6:47 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Industrial business.
7:17 p.m.: Police received a report of a vehicle blocking a driveway on West Eighth Street. They spoke to the vehicle’s owner who agreed to move the car.
7:22 p.m.: Police received a report of a violation of a court order on Columbus.
9:12 p.m.: Those gunshots heard on La Cruz were actually fireworks.
9:39 p.m.: There was a barking dog on Belvedere.
10:41 p.m.: There was a loud party on West K Street. The participants agreed to be quieter and to move the party inside.
10:52 p.m.: A resident on Columbia reported hearing gunshots. Officers were unable to locate anyone firing a gun.
11:27 p.m.: There was a dog barking on Warwick.. Officers spoke to the dog’s people.
11:40 p.m.: Police received a report of an open door on a car parked on Carlisle. The door was closed when officers arrived on the scene.

12:40 a.m.: Police received a report of an open car door on Cooper. They shut the door.
12:48 a.m.: Officers issued a case number of a repossession on Rinconada.
1:17 a.m.: Officers gave a warning to some people making a lot of noise on First Street.
1:37 a.m.: Police received a report of a loud party on Sandy. Officers were unable to find the party.
1:47 a.m.: A resident on East N Street reported hearing loud banging noises. Officers were unable to locate the noise or its possible source.
1:50 a.m.: Two signs were pulled out of the ground on East Fifth Street.
2:31 a.m.: A resident on Hastings thought there was an intruder in her home. Officers checked the house and yard and didn’t find an intruder.
3:17 a.m.: A resident on East Sixth Street complained of a group of loud people outside. Officers spoke to the group and convinced them to be quiet.
6:16 a.m.: A 28-year-old Benicia man was arrested for domestic violence and a probation violation.
9:31 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on Polk.
9:38 a.m.: A resident on La Cruz reported solicitors in the area. Officers were unable to find them.
12:53 p.m.: Officers were unable to find a reckless driver on First Street.
1:23 p.m.: A barking dog on Carsten earned its people a visit from police.
1:41 p.m.: Officers were asked to document the theft of medication from a store in Solano Square.
4:23 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate multiple subjects who were trespassing at a property on Bayshore.
5:44 p.m.: Officers were unable to find the people setting off bottle rockets in the vicinity of Rose Drive.
6:03 p.m.: Officers began an investigation into a case of fraudulent credit card use reported by a resident on Bolton.
7:02 p.m.: There was a domestic disturbance on McCall.
8:06 p.m.: Police began investigating a residential burglary on Carolina Drive.
9:11 p.m.: Officers talked to the people who were playing loud music on Buchanan.
9:34 p.m.: Officers separated the participants in a family domestic disturbance on East L Street.
10:13 p.m.: Officers spoke to a resident on Clos Duvall whose dog was barking.
10:55 p.m.: Police received a report of gunshots from a resident on West K Street. Investigating officers didn’t find anyone in distress.
Editor’s Note: Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
