Benicia Police Log: Car Windows Smashed on West L and a Disappearing Tree Branch

The following information was supplied by the Benicia Police Department, and unless otherwise noted, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

 

This is the crime bulletin for Monday, August 19, 2013 from the Benicia Police Department

1:22 a.m.: A 42-year-old Benicia man was arrested on Sunset for a probation violation.

3:09 a.m.: The windows of a vehicle parked on West L were smashed.

3:22 a.m.: Police received a report of shots fired near Grant.

6:29 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on West Channel Road.

7:57 a.m.: A citizen reported finding some property in their car that didn’t belong to them.  The car was parked on West L Street and police removed the unclaimed property.

8:51 a.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision in Solano Square.

9:39 a.m.: A citizen on Grove asked to speak to an officer.

9:59 a.m.: A citizen on London was the victim of fraud.

10:02 a.m.: Someone on East N Street was using their neighbor’s electricity.

10:51 a.m.: That tree branch reportedly blocking Lake Herman Road was gone when officers arrived to investigate.

10:18 a.m.: The alarm someone reported hearing on Larkin had quieted by the time officers arrived on the scene.

11:13 a.m.: A small dog reportedly running around on East Fifth Street was nowhere to be found when officers arrived on the scene.

12:17 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into a hit and run accident on First Street.

12:50 p.m.: Officers issued a citation for a vehicle that was illegally parked on First Street.

1:32 p.m.: Officers retrieved some property found on Riverhill.

1:49 p.m.: Officers were asked to advise a citizen regarding the violation of a court order.

3:39 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a home on Via Medina.

7:37 p.m.: Police received a report of cars being driven recklessly in the vicinity of the First Street spit.  Officers spoke to the drivers of the cars who denied doing anything wrong.

10:18 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to an East Fourth Street business after receiving reports that the lights were on and an unfamiliar vehicle was parked at the business.  The officers found an employee was working late.

10:41 p.m.: A store owner on Southampton Road called to report shoplifters.  Police contacted the subjects and found they’d not stolen anything.

10:56 p.m.: Police received a report of loud noise coming from a business on Jackson Street.  Investigating officers didn’t hear any loud noises.

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
