Benicia Police Log: Reckless Drivers and a Party on Carlisle

This is the crime bulletin for Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from the Benicia Police Department. Click the "Keep me posted" button below for an alert when we publish this report.

9:17 a.m.: Police received a report of a man lying under a tree on White Chapel.  Officers talked to the man about the city’s camping ordinance.

12:05 p.m.: Police were called to a Military West location where there was an open storage space with a person standing nearby.  The person was waiting for baseball practice to start and police secured the storage space.

1:06 p.m.: A business on Iowa was paid with bad checks.

1:17 p.m.: A resident on West J Street received threatening text messages.

1:36 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a home on Carlisle.

1:57 p.m.: A business on Southampton Road was paid with bad checks.

2:52 p.m.: A customer was refusing to leave a Military West business until police arrived on the scene.  Officers arrived and he left.

3:50 p.m.: Police received a report of two men drinking alcohol at the parking lot of a park on Hillcrest.  Officers found that the men were not drinking alcohol.

4:03 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a residence on Rose Drive.

4:12 p.m.: A citizen on East L Street asked for an officer to verify a vehicle identification number.

6:32 p.m.: the window of a vehicle parked on West K Street was vandalized.

7:07 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Second Street business.

7:15 p.m.: Police received a report of a verbal altercation on Southampton Road.  Officers were unable to find the people involved.

7:47 p.m.: Officers were unable to find a reckless driver reported on Southampton Road.

8:14 p.m.: Police received a report of a kid building a skateboard ramp on Rose Drive.  Officers discovered that the kid wasn’t building a ramp.

9:01 p.m.: Officers talked to  the people involved in a family disturbance on McAllister.

10:17 p.m.: There was a loud party on Carlisle.  Officers spoke to the host of the party who agreed to turn down the volume.

11:36 p.m.: Police received a report of a reckless driver on Military East.  They looked for but were unable to find the car and driver. 

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
