Help Firefighters At Southampton Center “Fill the Boot”

Benicia firefighters are collecting donations to help in the fight against Muscular Dystrophy.

Benicia firefighters are gathered at Southampton Shopping Center collecting money to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in its drive to fund research against Muscular Dystrophy.  There are 43 diseases that fall under the category of Muscular Dystrophy according to MDA Executive Director Kirsha Zupetz.  ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease is one of them.

“We’re working to fund research in multi disciplinary clinics throughout the Bay Area,” said Zupetz.

Firefighters will continue to collect donations until 6 p.m. today.
