Industrial Park Fire Controlled Before Buildings Were Damaged

Early morning blaze was initially reported as a structure fire.

A fire in the Benicia Industrial Park burned an area of grass and brush between East Second Street and Stone Road Saturday morning.  The fire was reported as a possible structure fire at 6:25 a.m.

Firefighters responding to the call from Benicia Fire Station 11 reported being able to see the flames from a mile away and called a second alarm believing the flames were coming from a building.

When firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire they found that a hillside above the 500 block of Stone road was on fire and no buildings were involved.  Firefighters fought the fire from Stone Road and East Second Street.
