Police Log: Tuesday, October 11, 2011

A residential burglary ruined the day for a West G Street resident.

1:15 a.m.: The person playing the loud music on Hillcrest was asked to turn it down.

6:40 a.m.: A suspicious vehicle on Rankin had left prior to officers arriving.

8:09 a.m.:  Police began an investigation into the theft of a number of items from a car on Buena Vista.

8:59 a.m.: Two suspicious persons reported on Southampton road had left the area before officers arrived.

10:17 a.m.: There was something found on East L Street.  Police didn’t elaborate on what the found object was.

11:53 a.m.: Animal control contacted a home owner on Myrtle whose dog was barking.

12:32 p.m.: A West J Street burglary turned out to be an accidental alarm activation on West J Street.

2:00 p.m.: A resident of Panorama asked police to begin a fraud investigation.

2:20 p.m.: There was a residential burglary on West G Street.

3:17 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Rose Drive.

4:01 p.m.: East Industrial Way was the site of a malfunctioning alarm.

6:49 p.m.: There were suspicious people walking around East Fifth Street.  Police stayed in the area until the person who reported seeing the suspicious people could leave the area.

7:00 p.m.: Police responded to a call about a person who may have been drunk or on drugs at a business on East Fifth Street.  Officers were unable to locate the altered person.

7:08 p.m.: A car on West K Street was vandalized.  Police appear to have a suspect in mind because they are forwarding a report to the District Attorney’s office.

8:58 p.m.: There was a report of a hit and run on West Fifth Street.

10:57 p.m.: A 46-year-old Sacramento man was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued in Sacramento County.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
