Fixed: The Groove is Gone from Austin Gibbon Bridge
Workers fill in that tire-grabbing groove.
Workers from Viking Construction were busy Tuesday filling in a tire-grabbing groove on the , the bicycle and pedestrian bridge over I-780 at Rose Drive.
Benicia Patch contributing columnist Ed Brennan, a member of the Benicia Bicycle Club and a life-long bicycling enthusiast, first wrote about the groove in his column published during the Labor Day weekend.
The groove was wide enough that it continually posed a hazard to bicyclists using the bridge to avoid traffic while commuting from Benicia to Vallejo.
