Water’s End residents may soon have a new reason to slow down and then stop. The Traffic, Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Committee is meeting Thursday to consider a number of items, including installation of new stop signs on McAllister Drive at Piercy Court.
Drivers leaving Piercy Court have very limited visibility to the north because of a curve on McAllister Drive and an embankment. There have been complaints of cars speeding in the southbound direction as well, making the situation more dangerous, according to a report prepared by Senior Civil Engineer Mike Roberts.
City staff is asking the committee to recommend installation of the signs. Staff estimates it will cost $750 to add the two signs to the intersection.
